In a time where the focus has been on COVID, it was such a JOY to get a call from a friend who wanted me to create their daughter’s wedding invitations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Invitation<\/h2>\n

Keeping the design clean and elegant, I went with a water color flower in the shades of the brides wedding colors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The RSVP Card<\/h2>\n

As the French say, r\u00e9pondez s’il vous pla\u00eet or in English, please respond. Maybe one of the most imporant cards a bride looks for in the mail, yet so many overlook.<\/p>\n

The knowledge of traditional wedding etiquette has been declining over the years. Mostly in regards to understanding WHO is invited to the wedding. Traditionally, if the envelope is addressed to “Mr. and Mrs.”, this informs the guest that only those 2 people are invited. If it is addressed to “Mr. and Mrs. and family” then everyone living in the house hold is invited including grandparents and children. As time goes on, this knowledge has not been passed and I have seen many brides try to figure out how to let their guests know that someone has RSVPed with more people then where originally planned.<\/p>\n

This is why I started instructing all brides to include the “Seats Reserved for Your Party” section. Now the bride is able to give a definite number, and it is clear for the attendee if children and grandparents are invited.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another helpful tip I have told brides, put a small number on the back of the RSVP card in the corner. In the guest list, assign this number to your guest. This way, if a RSVP card comes back without a return address or the name filled out you know who it was assigned to and it requires less stress of trying to figure it out.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Informational Card<\/h2>\n

Many times this card has directions and registration information. Unfortunately, we needed to add tons of information regarding COVID. Not knowing what phase Virginia would be in at the time of the wedding, held a lot of questions for the guests. In order to give guests the most updated information, we referred them to the wedding website.<\/p>\n
